The Food Bank is looking for volunteers to serve on the first and third Tuesdays each month to help with unloading trucks. Volunteers would need to be able to lift 25 pounds. The time would be 8:30 A.M. for about two to three hours. They ask that volunteers be fully vaccinated. Anyone who would like to help can contact Barbara at the Food Bank at (610) 767-9525.

NOTE FROM THE FOOD BANK

"Thank you for your generosity in buying gifts for two children of the Children’s Christmas Gift Program of the Northern Lehigh Pastoral Association. With your support, this program continues to provide Christmas gifts for children whose families are served by the Northern Lehigh Food Bank. Because of your generosity, 66 children in our community were able to receive gifts this year (2021). Thank you, again, and best wishes to you all for a Merry Christmas and a healthy and Happy New Year 2022. "

Sincerely,
Francine Potters

The Northern Lehigh Pastoral Association, Northern Lehigh Food Bank, and Friedens U.C.C. are sponsoring a Christmas Gifts for Children Program. Friedens Church will serve as the coordination and distribution site again this year. Children (up to age 17) will be paired with individuals or organizations who volunteer to shop for Christmas presents for the children. The gift givers are not told the identities of the recipients, only their first names, sizes, special needs, etc., and the clients are not told the names of the donors to protect the privacy of all involved.

Individuals or organizations willing to adopt a child/children for Christmas are asked to complete a participation form (copies available from Sharon in St. John’s church office). The deadline for adopting is Wednesday, September 25.
