THE BEST/SELL SCHOLARSHIP

The Best/Sell Scholarship is available to anyone enrolled in a university, community college, or trade school, who is completing at least their first semester of higher education by January 2025.

ABOUT THE SCHOLARSHIP

Money from the Martha Best estate and the former Florence A. Sell estate were combined in 2013 to make a new scholarship—the Best/Sell Scholarship. The scholarship is in honor of both Martha Best and Florence Sell, who endowed our church money from their estates and felt strongly about the education of our youth.

If you have filed an application before for the Best/Sell Scholarship and have no changes, please call the church office at (610) 767-6361 to indicate your desire to be considered for the scholarship. The deadline for applications is Sunday, December 1, 2024.

If you have filed an application before and need to make significant changes to your original application (such as: school transfer, tuition change, change of major, etc.), please complete a new application.

REQUIREMENTS FOR APPLICATION

Anyone interested in applying for the scholarship needs to be:​
  • An active member of St. John’s Lutheran Church, Slatington.
  • A current student enrolled in higher education (university, community college, or trade school).
